When the computer starts up, does it run c:\windows\autoexec.bat (the one that comes with the system)? If anyone knows, please help. Thanks!!

Current computers do have it, at least XP does. The commands in it will be executed when the system starts, but its location is C:\autoexec.bat, not the location you mentioned. What system are you using?

There is automatic running of the autoexec file.

If you want XP not to run it automatically, go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon branch, double-click the "ParseAutoexec" string value item in the right pane (if it isn't there, create one), change its "Value data" from the default "1" to "0", then exit the registry, and Windows XP will skip Autoexec.bat at startup.
