New features in Norton Ghost 12

Enhanced usability
The improved user interface simplifies the information and operations needed to successfully back up or restore files, folders, or an entire computer. For Norton Ghost experts, the "Advanced" page also provides a single view containing most product features.

Windows Vista support
Norton Ghost is designed to run in the new Windows Vista operating system and has been tested; it still supports previous versions of Windows. See Table 1.

Improved "Easy Setup" feature
Now, with the enhanced "Easy Setup" feature, it's easier to set up the first backup; this feature appears during installation (unless you choose to skip it) and also automatically appears when you first run Norton Ghost. File and folder backup

Convert restore points to virtual disk format
Convert restore points to one of two virtual disk formats for use in a virtual environment.

LightsOut Restore
You can restore the computer from a remote location regardless of the computer's state, as long as the computer's file system is intact.

Simplified scheduling editor
Now you can easily edit existing backup schedules without clicking multiple dialog boxes or going through the entire backup wizard again.

Manage backup data
Since restore points and file and folder backup data both require storage space, Norton Ghost allows you to freely choose where to store backup data and the amount of disk space needed. Norton Ghost provides simple tools to manage backup data, and it can even manage it automatically.

If the Symantec Recovery Disk is missing specific drivers, you can use the "Create Recovery Disk" feature to create a modified Symantec Recovery Disk that contains the correct drivers needed to successfully boot the computer into the recovery environment.
