The trend of the world is XXXX. Those who follow it will X, those who go against it will X. Why do you want to waste your energy like this?

The trend of the world is towards GNU, towards freedom, not towards WIN.

The following is the statement by laoxie92 on 2003-6-6 13:36:07:

But there's no denying that DOS is still very useful, right?
Especially when your win goes crazy, right?
Everyone uses win, and when problems occur after using it for a long time, they are at a loss. If you know a little about DOS, it's much better.

btw: If you say words like "The trend of the world XXXX, those who follow it X, those who go against it X" in the DOS forum, you will definitely be beaten by the hardworking moderators...

In fact, the role of DOS is still very great. If you want to become an expert, it's still good to learn some DOS!

Ask the computer repair experts, how many haven't learned DOS?
Your question is to know the answer.

Of course, if the computer has a problem, just make a phone call and someone will come to repair it, then naturally no need to learn, and it's useless to learn.

Even if it's not about repairing computers, learning it is still useful. For example, I don't use DOS because of repairing computers (to be honest, I'm not interested in system/bottom - layer maintenance).

Of course, we can't compare with Boss wengier... Hehe...
For DOS, one is that it's useful when repairing computers, and the other is that I have a good feeling for DOS software. After all, I started learning from DOS. There are many useful software in DOS, hehe...

To be honest, if you exclude repairing computers and the nostalgia for using DOS back then, I really can't think of other reasons to use DOS.

DOS (especially FreeDOS, etc.) is a free operating system of GNU suitable for individual users; while WIN is a closed operating system of MS, many people don't like it, so one should use DOS. After all, besides WIN, DOS is the most practical operating system among individual users (moreover, Win3.x/9x were originally software under DOS). And Linux/Unix, etc. are for server platforms, too complicated, not suitable for individual users. So in this case, one should use DOS.

But realistically speaking. Computers are used, but how many people are using DOS now. Who boots up with DOS to surf the internet, play games, watch movies, connect games, or do office work. An important purpose of an operating system is to be a platform for grafting application software. Currently, the most crucial thing about DOS is that it has lost the support of the vast majority of application software developers. Without the support of application software, for the average user, this system is meaningless.

Um... But there are quite a lot of existing DOS software and materials. Our goal is to keep them supporting DOS.
