ACOPY.COM is a utility program developed in assembly language. Its function is that under real DOS it can copy files of any attributes as well as their long filenames. This means it can completely copy the WINDOWS operating system to another partition or hard disk for backup or use. It is a more powerful copy tool than the XCOPY function that comes with WINDOWS. It can also burn WINDOWS onto a CD, and once the system has problems you can copy it directly back from the CD to the hard disk for use. But first you have to use ACOPY /C C:WINDOWS to create a long filename record file for WINDOWS before burning it to the CD. The difference between it and GHOST is that after GHOST restores a partition it will damage the original things, while ACOPY only adds.

I tried it a bit, and it does whole-directory copying.
Using the /c parameter records its directory structure.
If you want to copy a long-filename directory, you have to first use the /c parameter to generate the directory structure file. Then when you copy it, the filenames can be copied normally.
Otherwise it's just like ordinary directory copying.
I'd like to ask you to help take a look at how much practical value it has.

Now I'm here!

I tried ACOPY before. It's a domestic program, and it is still useful. However, with DOSLFN + 4DOS's COPY, it doesn't seem all that useful anymore.

As for burning to a CD under DOS, you could try software like MAKEISO + FILE2CD.

Where can I get 4dos's copy?

4dos seems a bit too big to put on a floppy!
I think I'd better just use command.com
The biggest problem with acopy seems to be that when copying a long-filename directory from a CD, it can't generate the directory file, and it also can't specify a path. So what should be done then?

Then use LCOPY.

I tried Lcopy a bit, why does it always give the error codepage 936 not supported!
Is my Lcopy.com file damaged?

Then download LCOPY 1.75 or a lower version, and it won't be like that.

I'm using 1.78. Can you tell me why this is?

Sigh, well, this is because of the Unicode code page. Since China's code page is 936, LCOPY currently does not support Chinese long filenames. Starting from LCOPY 1.77.2 it began detecting the code page, so once it finds one it doesn't support, it can't run. However, using LCOPY to copy English long filenames is no problem.

Or you can use the CHCP command to modify the current code page.

Also, please take a look here:
