After using DISKGENIUS under DOS to adjust partition sizes, the drive letters got mixed up. All partitions are FAT32; all data is still there. DOSPQ 8.0 Traditional Chinese DOS edition cannot be used, and reports a partition table error. LETTER ASSIGNER can change them back, but after rebooting they still revert to the mixed-up drive letters. It can't save the changes. If I want to change the drive letters automatically at boot, it seems I have to write an autoexec.bat file. But I don't know how to write it. Please give me some guidance, thanks.

How many hard disks do you have? How is each hard disk partitioned?

The so-called drive letter confusion under DOS is actually just people confusing themselves; DOS always assigns drive letters according to its own fixed rules. I haven't used that LETTER ASSIGNER of yours, but I guess it's probably something like the drive letter reassignment function in Windows NTs Disk Management, except under DOS. Since you know how to use it, just write its command line into autoexec.bat.

I only have one hard disk in my computer. It originally had six partitions, all in FAT32 format. Then, in order to adjust the size of one logical disk (not the system disk), I used DISKGENIUS. I split out a small 2G partition. Then I used PPM to convert it into a primary partition, and then converted it back into a logical partition. After rebooting into DOS, the drive letters got mixed up, and all the original drive letters shifted back by one, (all partitions are FAT32 format). The problem now is—I don't know how to write autoexec.bat, I don't know how to write the command line. Please help me, thanks.

You added a partition, so wouldn't it be strange if the drive letters didn't get mixed up? Shouldn't the new partition get a drive letter? Hehe.
Generally speaking, if it's only the drive letters under DOS that are mixed up, it shouldn't have much effect, unless of course you're working in DOS all day.

Hehe, of course it does, why wouldn't it? It's exactly because it gets one that things get mixed up, hehe. Although I know which drive is which, because they have volume labels. And I'm very familiar with the data inside, but if I don't change it back it just feels awkward~!!!

Any text editor can edit the autoexec.bat file, for example edit autoexec.bat .

Strange! However you write the command line, that's exactly how you write it in the autoexec.bat file!

If you don't know how to write it, then write out the command you use at the command prompt.
