My sound card is PCI. In CONFIG。SYS there is a DEVICE=ESSOLO.SYS line, and in AUTOEXEC.BAT there is a C:\ESSOLO.COM line. These were set by the system itself when the sound card was installed in Win98, but under DOS the sound card is not installed properly.
Could an expert explain in detail how to install a sound card under DOS, especially how to set it up in CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT? I've tried several times myself and it still never works. Thanks in advance!

My es1488 also doesn't have a driver for DOS. But now I can finally listen to music under DOS...
If your computer has sound when playing DOS games, and just can't play music, you can try my method!
