I am on an industrial control computer motherboard, installed a pure DOS operating system ms-dos7.10. And downloaded the USB driver under DOS from the Internet (a total of four files, namely DI1000DD.SYS, RAMFD.SYS, USBCD.SYS, USBASPI.SYS), added to the system installation folder, and modified the boot setting config.sys file, plugged in the USB flash drive and restarted, successfully read and wrote the USB flash drive, but when I unplugged the USB flash drive and plugged it in again, the USB flash drive didn't respond, tried many times like this. I suspect there is no hot-swapping function. Does MS-DOS support USB flash drive hot-swapping? Or is there a problem with this USB drive?

If the driver is okay, is there a special PNP support module under MS-DOS7.10, but I just didn't call it?

The driver of DOS for USB devices only stops at recognizing and being able to access when booting. As for hot - plugging, this is simply not a function that DOS has.

It is remembered that someone in the forum made a driver for supporting USB device hot - plugging under real DOS. I once got to know about it. But it was just loading and unloading the USB driver by using commands like device.com for driver loading and unloading. Moreover, the batch files for loading and unloading were encrypted. Later, due to compatibility problems, no further research was carried out. I remember it was downloaded from the forum. Anyone who is interested can look for it again.

If you don't use config.sys to load but use loadsys.exe to load drivers, you can hot-swap. Before unplugging the USB flash drive, use loadsys to unload the USB driver, and after plugging it in, use loadsys to load the USB driver. Just write two simple batch files.
