When the forum is restored, some people suggested setting up a WMIC section, independent from the batch processing section. I wonder if everyone thinks it's necessary?

I've heard that WMIC is very powerful, but I've never been able to get started. Maybe many people in the forum are like this. If a WMIC expert has already been found, the new section will stimulate discussions in this area; if there are no such people, the new section is likely to be ignored, and we can consider delaying for a while. By the way, I feel that the PowerShell section has fallen into an awkward situation.

I disagree with the above statement because after all, the relationship between POWERSHELL and P processing and DOS is not too close, and it also requires installing specific programs. The running environment and test environment are not as good as WMIC. Think about it, now everyone basically installs the XP system, that is to say, everyone has this test environment, and the next step is the question of how to learn.

It has always not supported opening a new version again. Now there are already too many sections. It is not impossible to add new discussion items in the existing sections.

It is suggested that the beginner's entry and troubleshooting be merged, and all topics before December 31, 2006 be locked. Take a look at those few posts in the beginner's entry that have been hanging there all the time. The replies in them are extremely chaotic, no noisier than the Water Park.

If a WMIC section is opened, it is better to first select a moderator who is more enthusiastic and proficient in WMIC.

I think there's no need to open a WMIC section. We can discuss in the batch processing room. Also, having too many sections is hard to manage, unless there are a few suitable section moderators to manage it.

Upstairs, do you still think the batch processing room isn't noisy enough? If you don't mind it being messy, just post it. Let's see who will care

I think it's still better not to start.
1. Not many people know how to do it.
2. Environment? You know that Windows XP doesn't run on everyone's machine.
3. Look at PowerShell

Those three reasons of yours are called reasons??? None of them can really persuade others.

There aren't many people who can do it. If there were many people who could do it, then it wouldn't be called the DOS Union, and it wouldn't be able to follow the times.

You said the test environment has problems, and there are few people using XP. Okay, by the way, let's conduct a survey on the systems that everyone uses to see how many people are actually using XP.

Don't make me look at POWERSHELL. If it's built into the system itself, I dare say it's not much worse than the CMD SHELL, whether in terms of functionality or flexibility, but it's not built-in, it needs to be installed, and its universality isn't very good.

For individual users, currently XP is the mainstream operating system. Of course, for people in the advanced gamer circle, the mainstream operating systems they see may be non - Windows systems such as Linux, Unix, etc.

In fact, I think the key to whether to open a new section does not lie in whether the information in this regard is rich and whether there are enough people who know it (if everyone knows it, it seems that there is no need to discuss anything), but lies in whether there are enough people who have sufficient research in this regard to stay here all the time. Otherwise, everyone is at a half - baked level and is repeating low - level topics, which is no different from chatting.

Personally, I think WMIC is mainly for system administrators, and its appeal to the public may not be too great - although technology fanatics will be ecstatic. So, the plan of taking it as a sub - section under batch processing can also be considered.

Is the forum going to change its name?

Originally, I was quite interested in WMIC, but it seems there's no need to discuss it here anymore. You all do as you like... Nowadays, people are getting lazier and lazier. Just one reason like "no information or too little information" to deny the learning attitude towards it. Such people will never keep up with the trend of the times, because they have a timid heart towards the changes of the times...

I think we can set up sub - sections in the large section, and then link to the sub - sections on the homepage.

Agree with namejm's statement.

The main function of the forum is communication. If there are not more than three relatively stable online experts, then the opening of a new section will not play a positive promoting role.

For example, in the PowerShell section, the only capable person is tigerpower. Even he ended up at a loss because a good discussion atmosphere was not formed.

For another example, in the Grub4DOS section, everyone is only the author Budian. Most experts are concentrated in syssoft. If more experts do not join in the short term, I doubt how long its vitality can be maintained.

As for the real-time section, it is even more unpopular. It is suggested to close it as soon as possible to save page space.

The rest:

In the Development Room, occasionally Guo Heng, GOTOmsdos and others support the scene. In the Localization Room, there are also yaya, Ben Shi and others shining. In the Q&A Room, it seems that Climbing is more diligent now.

In a word, for the forum to develop, it still depends on talents. With talents, there is popularity. And to attract talents, in addition to a relaxed communication atmosphere, there also needs to be a relatively pure discussion environment.

For example, the way the Batch Processing Room is now, I don't really want to go there anymore.
