My new machine has a 965 motherboard, the hard disk is SATA2 interface, the optical drive is DVD-RW, which is IDE interface, and it is connected to SATA2 through the JMicron JMB36X chip on the motherboard (this optical drive is recognized as a SCSI optical drive in Windows). I wonder if it is supported under DOS?

Not supported,, no DOS driver for Jmb36x,, I've already looked for it,, so there's no way to use it under DOS

I tried it, GCDROM can successfully drive my CD-ROM. And DOS accesses the hard disk through the BIOS, so there is no need for SATA2 drivers at all (while Linux does).
