I installed the full version of MSDOS 7.1 on a virtual machine, and I always get the above error when running the NASM compiler. But there is no error when running it under DOS in XP. I checked some information online, it seems that there is a lack of some DMPI service program, but I still don't quite understand. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks!!!

You can use CWSDPMI to start a DPMI server in real DOS mode. In the DOS modes of the win9x/nt series, DPMI is enabled by default.

Still not getting it done. I extracted the downloaded file to the C: drive and also set the environment variables, but still get the same error. How can I enable the DPMI service?
