Because the computer CD drive is broken and cannot install the system from the CD drive. I am currently using XP and want to install 2000, so I copied the 2000 installation files to the hard drive. Then I did install 2000 using Dwarf DOS, but I can't format the C drive. The original XP is still there. To format the C: drive, I can only use a boot disk to format in DOS. However, when using tools like USBOOT to make boot disks, I can't enter DOS and it prompts "the operation system si missing". Please, everyone, come in and give some pointers on how to solve this boot disk problem. I don't want to use XP anymore and want to use 2000.

I think that if you want to format the C drive, you may have to make a DOS bootable disk. Now I can't make a DOS bootable disk. By the way, mine is a laptop. There are no clear options like USB-ZIP, USD-HDD in the BIOS boot items, only the USB-STORAGE option. Is it because the motherboard is not good? Or is the USB flash drive not the so-called bootable type? I'm confused.

For example, you can use grub4dos to load a bootable img file into virtual memory, and then run the formatting tool in memory to format the hard disk.

Use the PXE version of MAXDOS. Your notebook should support network card booting. There is one condition, which is to connect another machine to form a local area network.

The boot disk is ready, and I can enter DOS 7.1. Now a new problem has come up. I can't do anything in DOS. FORMAT can't be used, one-click GHOST can't be used, and SMARTDRV can't be loaded. Oh my god, completely confused.

Try using usboot 1.7 or flashboot.
