【 In the great post by microbe (Wonderful Microorganism), it was mentioned: 】
: Oh! So is there no way to do low-level formatting now?
: Also, I think if an IDE hard disk blocks the low-level format command, it should be a bit safer. What this means now
: seems to be that once you send it a low-level format command, it'll damage the hard disk?!
: By the way, you misspelled quite a lot of words, xixi :-)
Don't listen to him, it's not that bad.
But for hard disks >420M, ordinary low-level format software really kills them one by one.
ADM can do low-level format, DM can too, see help
ps: adm and dm also can't do low-level format on eide (>420M)
A 270M ide drive will show a lot of bad sectors after low-level format,
that's a problem of software-mapped bad tracks, not that the format damaged it
they were bad to begin with, just covered up by software-mapped bad tracks,
and the format exposed them for you.
QA can be used. adm is better
No matter which one you use, it's all very troublesome
Afterward you have to repartition it, and also use
something like disktool (make disk bootable)

Space shuttle: Hey man, can you go a little faster?
Boeing 747: The bus is only 64K, it's already overloaded, switch to optical cable.
