Today a friend asked me to reinstall the computer. When I got there, the resolution was too low. I first changed the resolution, restarted the computer, and it reverted; then I changed the settings in the system advanced startup fault and recovery, restarted and it reverted again; booted from the CD and used pq to format the C drive, the progress bar finished, but the used and unused capacities were still the original size; couldn't install the XP system newly; booted from the CD into Deep Mountain Red Leaf, couldn't enter the PE system, and entered the original XP system.

I took a look, the original boot menu had 2 items, one was XP, the other was MS-DOS (which can read, write to, delete Chinese partitions~~).

I think the original installer used related DOS commands to lock XP, but my DOS foundation is too poor. Please哪位 expert give me some pointers on how to unlock the XP system and hard disk partitions. Thanks in advance.

The information about software and hardware environment is too little. Is it a branded computer or a home-use or internet café one - maybe with automatic recovery/one-key recovery? Or restore card/software? Is it a desktop or a laptop? What graphics card and its driver (automatic installation or manual)? Is XP a clean version or a streamlined version? Is it GHOST or installation? And so on.

Actually, you wrote several posts, but the problem hasn't been made clear.

First of all, do you have any important information on your hard drive that needs to be backed up?

If not, the problem is very simple. If high-level formatting doesn't work, low-level format. Use my 4.com, high-level formatting can be completed instantly. Then partition. Once planned, the operation is very quick.

If there is, you need to find another hard drive to back up. Then operate as above.

Second, install DOS first. Then install XP. Use FAT32 for the partition file system format first, and then convert to NTFS format when you feel the system is stable and easy to use. And use GHOST to make a system backup image. It will be more convenient in the future.

There might be a virus. You can enter DOS and delete all files on drive C and reinstall, which should fix it. I just encountered this situation

I don't know if you have PartitionMagic in your disk? Just use it to format it!!!

Reinstall XP, and when installing, just completely format the HDD. There's no need to format in DOS in advance.

Haven't been here for a long time. The problem last year was actually a hard drive failure, and it was returned for repair in August last year. Sorry everyone, thank you all.
