How do I make a Chinese HELP file under DOS? I hope this file can be an executable file.
Answer: 1. There is a program that already does this; the .ex help files of quite a few DOS programs were made with this software. The filename is tte.exe. 2. It means txt to exe. There are quite a lot of this kind of software. The best one is VTTE, and it even comes with music, but who has VTTE 2.0? I've only ever seen 1.0. 3. Hehe, I think the music isn't very useful, and VTTE seems to have a whole pile of files. I just hate DOS programs that come with tons and tons of files. txt2exe (seems to be called t2e) uses only one file, and its features are more than enough. 4. VTTE having too many files really is annoying, and it doesn't support command-line operation, so you always have to go into its lousy interface to do things. But the EXE generated by t2e doesn't have a nice-looking interface; VTTE's interface looks much better, and VTTE also comes with a passable editor that makes it convenient to add colors. The EXE generated by VTTE 2.0 also supports the mouse. One is TM (TEXT MAGIC) included with the pocket edition of UCDOS98. The other is the Haifeng text editor (STC), which I especially like. Both of these were introduced on the forum before. |
