Who has tried the graphical operating system MENUET?
It is also an operating system installed on a single 1.44" floppy disk!

Here is its introduction:
When operating systems are mentioned, especially graphical operating systems, people always think of things like Windows and Linux that take hundreds of megabytes or even over a gigabyte. Actually, anyone who has studied operating system principles knows that to implement a simple operating system, you really do not need that much code (of course, don't expect this kind of operating system to do too many things).
　　The free MENUET is exactly such a simple operating system. What is most surprising is that this operating system, designed specifically to fit on a single 1.44" floppy disk, can actually provide a graphical user interface. This 32-bit operating system written in assembly language has the characteristics of a clear structure, being suitable for programming, speed, and stability. MENUET is still under development at present, and only has some simple functions, such as a CD player. In summary, its functions and features include:
　　·Graphical interface, supports up to 16-bit true color and 1280x1024 resolution
　　·True multitasking and multithreading
　　·Fits on a single 1.44MB floppy disk
　　·Provides programming support for C language

I tried it a long time ago!
It first copies all the files from the floppy disk into a ramdisk,
so it runs very fast.
But if there is any problem with that floppy disk, then it gets troublesome!

I tried it, but on this computer of mine I just could not get it to work no matter how I set it up. The keyboard and mouse did not respond at all, and I could only press RESET to reboot!

It works, and the features are pretty good. Wengier, it should be a setup issue on your side. I have tried several versions of MENUETOS, and all of them worked normally. There are also quite a lot of floppy-disk versions of Linux boot/root disks now. Of course, since there are relatively few people who understand Linux, it is rather difficult to use

It definitely is not a setup problem on my side, but a compatibility problem with it. I tried all kinds of settings, but none of them worked.

I read through the source code. I originally wanted to Chinese-localize it. But it uses a 12-dot matrix display. After Chinese localization, the font would be too large and would not look good!

Looks like lockkiller has a lot of experience with Chinese localization! Can you let us see it? Thanks.
