Slow Down the Dance of Life
Have you ever watched children at play on a merry-go-round?
Have you ever listened to the sound of raindrops splashing on the ground?
Have you ever chased butterflies fluttering to and fro?
Have you ever gazed at the sunset as it slowly darkens into dusk?
You'd better slow down,
don't walk so fast,
because time is short,
and the joy of life won't last.
Are you busy every day, rushing here and there,
when you ask "How are you?" do you hear the answer?
After a busy day,
do you lie in bed still thinking about all the trivial things for tomorrow?
You'd better slow down,
don't walk so fast,
because time is short,
and the joy of life won't last.
Have you ever told your child what you'll do tomorrow?
And in your hurry failed to notice the child's sadness,
have you ever, by losing touch,
let a precious friendship helplessly wither away?
You'd better slow down,
don't walk so fast,
because time is short,
and the joy of life won't last.
When you hurry on your way to somewhere,
you miss the fun along the road;
when your life is full of anxiety and haste,
your days are like an unopened gift,
thrown away by you just like that...
Life is not a race of speed,
let us slow down the dance of life,
and before the music ends and everyone departs,
listen carefully to this joy of life.
