The Poet's Garden

When the poet thought of the emptiness of life, he was so miserable he no longer wanted to live. He decided to kill himself. He came to a wide open field and dug a grave for himself. Seeing that the grave looked too bare, he planted trees, flowers, and grass around it. He kept planting, and gradually became fascinated with gardening, devoting himself to cultivating all kinds of precious trees and rare flowers and plants. In the end, his achievements became known far and wide, attracting wave after wave of visitors.

One day, the poet heard a little girl ask her mother, "Mom, what is this?" The mother answered, "I don't know, ask this uncle." The little girl's small hand pointed at the grave pit the poet had dug long ago. The poet blushed. He thought for a moment, then said, "Little girl, this is a tree pit Uncle specially dug for you. Whatever you like, Uncle will plant it."

The little girl and her mother both smiled happily. I know the poet was lying, but this time, I forgive him.

Why do poets always think about suicide? If you're living just fine, why kill yourself?

People commit suicide because they're not living well. Who says the poet was living just fine?
