A few days ago, my monitor broke. After I took it in and had it repaired (the flyback transformer was replaced), everything was normal when entering the WIN98 system. But when I clicked the UCDOS shortcut on the desktop and wanted to enter the DOS system, the screen just went black, and then there was no response at all, and the monitor's power light didn't even come on. What exactly is going on here? Please give me some pointers, experts. Thanks!
My monitor is an LG, 15-inch.

Then, can you still get into win98?

The monitor broke, everything else is fine. (I bought another monitor, and everything is normal.)

Looks like I can't find the reason the monitor broke here, I should go look on some hardware-related forums.

In theory software won't damage hardware! Maybe it was a restart! Going from 98 to UCDOS requires a restart, maybe at that moment the instantaneous voltage was too high! And that damaged the monitor! What a coincidence

The reason the monitor broke also lies in a quality problem with the monitor itself. It may be that the replacement flyback transformer didn't match the monitor (substitutes are commonly used by repair shops). It could also be some other reason.
When the flyback transformer and the monitor don't match, although it can still light up, when the oscillation frequency changes, (such as from WIN98 to DOS) it is very easy for it to be damaged. If it doesn't break this time, it'll break next time; it has nothing to do with your main unit.

But as for me, I really have never heard of this kind of situation.
