What do you mean? Booting from a USB flash drive has nothing to do with your system... it has to do with your motherboard... check the manual.

One of the moderator's boot disks plus your USB flash drive will do!

The moderator's boot disk is a floppy disk, and I don't have a floppy drive. My USB flash drive, according to the manual, can only be made into a boot disk under 98 and me. What I mean is, how do I make it under XP? Under 98, if I make it as HDD type it can boot, but if I make it as ZIP type it can't boot. Why? My motherboard supports USB-ZIP booting. So depressinging................
Why is it that around here it's all about making boot floppies and boot CDs, and I still haven't seen anything about making a bootable USB flash drive, and doing it under xp at that. |

Yeah, I don't have a floppy drive either, so how do I do it? Can every USB flash drive boot a system?

The following is quoted from raogy's post at 2003-6-9 19:37:13: Same here! My motherboard is 845. What chipset is your motherboard using? |

If you want to make a normal DOS or 98 bootable USB flash drive, just copy all the files from the boot floppy to the USB flash drive directly (including hidden and system files). My Samsung 64M is like that.
