DOS stands for freedom, openness and progress. Let us work hard, learn from the openness and GNU spirit of FreeDOS and Linux, and together build and grow a free GNU GPL world!

Just bought a computer with SATA optical drive and hard drive just now, and wants to use ghost for backup. But the SATA optical drive and hard drive cannot be recognized under DOS. Please teach how to make it?

Using SATA hard drives under DOS is the same as using IDE hard drives. SATA optical drives need to load drivers. There is a discussion post about this driver on the forum. Go search for it. It's the Gigabyte SATA optical drive driver, but it can also be used on other brands' SATA optical drives.

Found GCDROM.sys which can support SATA drives under DOS, but this GCDROM.sys does not support IDE and does not support the ghost.exe burned on the CD. Please advise how to automatically determine whether the current drive is IDE or SATA?

Can't you load all? It seems these two don't conflict. As for Ghost that isn't supported to be burned on a CD, I have no experience and haven't done it.
