How to run files that require Windows 98 under an installed XP system?! - China DOS Union Forum

I have XP installed, and now I need to look at a file. This file runs under 98.
Because the optical drive on the laptop can't be used in DOS mode, how can I solve this?!
I copied the files from the CD to the hard disk, booted with DOS, and ran ntfsdos.exe (a program for reading data from NTFS partitions in DOS), but it still couldn't map the NTFS partition to a drive letter, so I can't run the program.
Question: 1) How do I know what partition "the DOS version can recognize" means?
2) How can I copy the file to a partition that the DOS version I want to use can recognize, and run it

Answer: 1）A "partition that the DOS version can recognize" means a partition that it can read and also write to (without loading any program for reading partitions) 2）I recommend downloading a program that can both read and write; it definitely has to be registered, otherwise there's no way.
