China DOS Union

I use a normal CD-ROM driver under DOS to load the DVD-ROM, but it can only read CD data discs,
and cannot read DVD data discs. So I'd like to ask all the experts here, is there a DVD driver for DOS, the kind that can read DVD data discs?

Do you mean a pure UDF-format DVD disc? If it's an ISO9660 or mixed-format DVD, then reading it under DOS should not be a problem.

Boss, first of all thanks for replying to my question so promptly. I don't know what a pure UDF-format DVD disc is, or what an ISO9660 or mixed-format DVD is. Anyway, the data DVD disc I'm talking about can be read under XP, but when I boot the machine with Win98 and load the CD-ROM driver, the DVD-ROM can't read the disc. It seems the prompt says, just as you said, that it is not in ISO9660 format. So what's the difference when burning data between pure UDF-format DVD discs, ISO9660, and mixed-format DVDs? Does ISO9660 hold less data than pure UDF format? Can it be read on a CD-ROM drive???

ISO9660 and UDF are just different file management formats. udf format supports a single file larger than 2G. You can look up the specifics online. The former can also be read under DOS.

My file is 2.48G, so it looks like it's in UDF format, that's why it can't be read in DOS
