When using QV under DOS, there is a parameter, namely qv -w6, which can make the machine's speaker make a sound. I was just thinking whether the speaker can be modified? (I haven't tried it). That is, using the connector connected to the speaker as the audio output to a general powered speaker, is it feasible? Can electronic experts try to experiment or give their opinions? There is also a question I want to ask at the same time. QV has parameters for making sounds with the speaker. Does mplayer have this function? After all, mplayer supports many more media formats.

MPlayer probably doesn't support playing sound from the speaker. What sound card are you using? Haven't you found the driver?

I'm using a motherboard-integrated sound card ALC850 and can't find the driver under DOS. Is there any driver available somewhere? Is anyone writing sound card drivers for DOS? Now there are many people looking for sound card drivers under DOS.

For Realtek ALC drivers, there may be little hope. But MPXPLAY, WPLAY, etc. should have sound. If possible, you can install a PCI sound card (such as SB PCI, SB Live! and so on), which can generally be successfully driven. Or try to write a driver program by yourself and share it with everyone.

I tried it, can't connect directly, it will smoke. The speaker wire should be connected to a load coil instead. The proper way is to use an output transformer from a radio as the load, sense to the output end and then connect the output wire
