The first project of the China DOS Union is the "Super DOS Boot Disk". We want to add some other functions on the basis of the existing functions of the DOS boot disk we have made (such as supporting CD-ROM, USB, NTFS, LFN, LOGO, etc.) to make the "China DOS Union Super DOS Boot Disk". Let's discuss the functions it should have. For example:

1: Support multi-boot function, that is, you can choose to boot from the hard disk, floppy disk, and CD-ROM at one time;
2: More custom functions, such as using some menus for users to choose whether to run some programs, etc.;
3: Enhance the beauty of the interface;
4: Continue to strengthen compatibility and conduct extensive testing.

What do you think? What else should be added?

And how should the first item "multi-boot function" be implemented best?

I think this compatibility is the most important one... For most users, starting with a logo-like graphic option is the most ideal.

The most important thing is the function, not the logo. I wonder if I'm right?

Look at the positioning!?! DOS disk! Emergency disk! Ghost disk! Bootable CD disk! Antivirus disk!! One disk can only be used for one! Otherwise, multiple boot on the CD!

This is a super boot disk, so it's a general-purpose DOS disk. "DOS Emergency Disk" is the second startup disk project of the China DOS Union.

My suggestion is:
http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/newdos/dispbbs.asp?boardID=11&ID=2980
Transfer to CD as soon as possible, otherwise you will tie your own hands and feet!
Isn't it good to let everyone see a more splendid DOS world?
Also, the documentation should be good. At least know what each command is for, let people.

This suggestion is really great!

I think the "Super Universal Boot Disk" can add some more functions for certain specific systems, such as 845 motherboards with poor compatibility and so on. You can use the SUBMENU command in CONFIG.SYS to make submenus!

My suggestion:
The boot disk should mainly be made to be compatible, universal, and able to support the use of CD-ROMs, USB storage devices, etc. under DOS, as well as some basic commands necessary for booting like doskey!
Now there are more and more USB devices, but the main ones used under DOS are storage devices, and it's really annoying to lack support for them!
Using NERO to burn the boot disk is mainly for repairing machines and installing systems:
1. For repairing machines, it mainly depends on whether it can boot in any situation;
2. For installing systems, it depends on whether it can be compatible with any devices;
Other software such as partition, format, xcopy, hd, attrib, etc. can be placed in other directories of the CD-ROM.
If possible, I don't think anyone cares that it takes up an entire CD-ROM. Also, a 98.ghost can be burned. : )

In addition: I think the LOGO thing is not necessary, but as I said above, it doesn't take up 1.44MB. If there is extra space, adding a LOGO is not bad either. : )

Should make a bootable CD, multi-boot, and add some very common and useful tools. The floppy disk is limited in space, and some tools are too large to fit.

It is suggested that masters like Rush and KO take the lead in making DOS bootable CDs.

Strongly support using a bootable CD. I mainly use it to repair computers, with a target of 200M space. It's best to separate the bootable img file from the tools to be burned onto the CD for production. In this way, if necessary in the future, we can continue to burn to the CD, avoiding the waste of remaining space on the CD if using ISO once, and being unable to add new good tools in the future, hehe!

My opinion is to not be general, make it more specialized, and create several more sets of disks.
