I’d like to ask here: when I use loadlin to boot the kernel and other boot files copied out of a CD edition of Linux, if I use himem.sys it says out of memory or less than 4M of memory. But my machine has 256M of RAM. When I use mem to check memory, himem.sys does indeed load successfully. If I don’t load himem.sys, it says there is an error decompressing the kernel. Does this mean I have to use syslinux after all? Using loadlin keeps the directory on the USB drive cleaner and simpler. Does anyone know what to do? []
