I see someone used grub to boot winxpe and then install it. Directly using grub probably isn't possible.

Okay, find the SETUPLDR.BIN in the installation directory, then chainloader it. For example, if your SETUPLDR.BIN is here, existing at U:\I386\SETUPLDR.BIN, then you write in menu.lst:
chainloader /I386/SETUPLDR.BIN
boot
That's it. Grub4Dos should use the latest version!

In fact, you can directly make a USB flash drive into a bootable USB drive and run the Windows installation program under DOS.

There is a more complicated method:
Use grub4dos to load dos.img into memory for booting, and then run the Windows installation program under DOS.
