I made a bootable disk supporting multiple DOS systems using SYSLINUX

This disk is mainly for demonstration, and you can modify it according to your own preferences.

The functions are:

Support rom/ms/pc/dr... DOS, in short, whatever DOS you need can be placed. Non-DOS ones are also okay, like BCDL and so on. As long as it is a boot program on a floppy disk, it should be okay. Support LINUX.

Support GZIP decompression.

Support MEMDISK, that is, create a memory disk with the boot image you selected. After loading is completed, you don't need the floppy disk anymore, and all are accessed in the memory. MEMDISK supports 360/720/1.2/1.44/2.88/HD images, and you can set CHS by yourself, but it is known whether it supports non-standard ones like 1.68.

SYSLINUX has graphical interface, text interface and serial port operation, supports loading fonts (currently does not support double-byte font libraries).

There are other functions. According to needs, specifically see the README of SYSLINUX and MEMDISK.

I do want to use GRUB to make a multi-DOS boot startup floppy disk, because GRUB supports menu selection.

Is SYSLINUX a software? Can you upload it?

I just tried it just now, and I think the multi-boot menu made with SYSLINUX is not bad, but the boot speed is too slow (it takes a long time to load the IMZ file).

And why can't the GRUB boot disk be booted? It freezes as soon as the "stage1" word appears.

Defragmenting the floppy will cause this.....
I'll upload it again.....Open attachment

GNU GRUB is a Multiboot boot loader. It was derived from GRUB, GRand Unified Bootloader, which was originally designed and implemented by Erich Stefan Boleyn.

Briefly, boot loader is the first software program that runs when a computer starts. It is responsible for loading and transferring control to the operating system kernel software (such as the Hurd or the Linux). The kernel, in turn, initializes the rest of the operating system (e.g. GNU).

Using the GRUB boot manager is really good, especially the function of booting from the hard disk, which makes that JO.SYS almost completely useless. It will definitely be seen in the future "China DOS Union Super Boot Disk"!
