A lot of people say DiskMan is easy to use, and that they solved real problems with it. Could it be that my experience is different from theirs?
Every time I start DISKMAN, it reports an error. Could it really be like the help file says, that there is a problem with my partitions? That shouldn't be the case. I've never had any problem running the system! Friends who have used this software, please explain it a bit.

Exactly. My hard drive had no problem at all, but DiskGen/DiskMan said there was a problem, and it couldn't be used at all. That shows its functions are still quite limited, not very practical.

My experience using DISKGEN has been pretty good.

My hard drive is a low-speed 20G Seagate. What about the two posters above?

That can't be, I use it to partition multiple hard drives, hide bad sectors, and so on. I think it's extremely easy to use (the fully Chinese interface suits a newbie like me best. Except for its formatting function.) With some hard drives that can't be handled with tools like FDISK/DM, DISKGEN 2。0 can still partition them. (But I can't make sense of the file it records when checking the disk surface for bad sectors, namely the relationship between heads, cylinders, and sectors.) It can be used together with the LFORMAT tool.

I've used it. Quite good, simple. You can try some other versions too.

Personally, I think the software is still very good.

Every software tool has places where it is suitable and places where it isn't.
Sometimes PQ or DM isn't necessarily all that easy to use either, so all we can do now is collect more tools and learn how to use more kinds of software, so that when a problem comes up there are more chances to solve it.

Wengier, was your hard drive partitioned with Microsoft's FDISK? If so, that's possible. You can check it with SPFDISK. If the partition table shows overlap, then DISKGEN's warning is not wrong. This does occasionally happen on some hard drives partitioned with FDISK. According to the author of SPFDISK, it should be a BUG in FDISK.
