China DOS Union

To improve browsing speed, I analyzed the webpages and found two areas that can be improved:
1. The GIFs on the webpages have not been optimized. For example: a 23K LOGO can be optimized to 7K, and a 5K one can be optimized to 2K...
After optimizing them all, dozens of K can be saved, which can noticeably speed up browsing.
2. Some users' image signature tags are over 80K. With current network speeds, that takes dozens of seconds, which seems a bit too extravagant.
This is another important reason for slow browsing speed, so I suggest limiting them to within 10K.

These two measures are simple and practical, and can produce immediate results.

Compressing animated GIFs is a very good method; that's exactly what I do!

Also, streamlining or compressing the database is a good method too! That would speed things up quite a bit. Too bad I don't really know how to do it specifically.

To compress the database you have to log in to the forum admin page first, and only then can you do it.

What the moderator meant was limiting the image size in posts; I don't know about that either. But it definitely can be done. Lots of websites have this kind of limit.

Paint Shop Pro/Image Optimizer can both do it

Can someone modify the text in that image? For example, change "New DOS Forum" to "United DOS Forum", and change "www.cn-dos.net" to "dosbbs.2ya.com"?
