On the 22nd, NASA released the first photo of Earth seen from Mars, sent back by the “Mars Global Surveyor.” The “Mars Global Surveyor” took this photo on May 8 when it was operating at Mars.

People with sharp eyes can make out clouds over the central and eastern United States and northern South America in the specially processed enlarged photo, and can also see part of Central America and the Gulf of Mexico.
Earlier, NASA’s “Mars Pathfinder” tried several times in 1997 to take photos while approaching Mars, but was blocked by thick cloud cover.
