Moderator: Could we also open a Linux section?

We’re a DOS-focused forum, but we also have a Windows section, and some people put Linux-related posts in the Windows section.

Could the moderators consider opening a Linux section too?

Hehe! Originally, the “Windows Section” and the “Unix/Linux Section” were separate boards. Later, though, they strongly requested that these two boards be merged.

This forum is mainly about DOS, but other operating systems should not be neglected either, so it can just be called the section for other operating systems.

OP, the forum name is --- "China DOS Union" --- one look and it’s obvious this is a place to discuss DOS, but in consideration of users of other OSes, that’s why we opened the "Other Operating Systems Section", purely as a service

Actually, I very much support posting Linux-related threads in that section.

Hehe, I agree with the opinions of the posters above.

The problem is, if we open these sections, who’s going to answer the questions? Whether it’s using/developing/installing LINUX, it’s all harder than DOS, and without years of accumulated experience it’s very hard to solve real problems.

Windows and DOS are related, but what does DOS have to do with Linux?

DOS and Linux are very closely related. First, they are usually both character-based / command-line operating systems. Second, both are free, open, and still developing, especially FreeDOS and Linux, which are very comparable. Of course, Windows and DOS also have a certain relationship.
