You can download the VMware DiskMount Utility tool from the official website; it can turn VMware virtual hard disk files into system hard disks. (www.vmware.com)
But this tool uses the command line, so it is inconvenient to use. I developed a Shell tool to make virtual disks easier to work with. The download link is: Mounter(VMware DiskMount Utility Shell) [ Last edited by cobras on 2007-2-27 at 01:04 PM ] |

Cool. Although I haven't needed it yet, I'll bump the thread anyway. I've only used shared folders under WINDOWS before; only today did I realize there are such things under DOS too.

You can start networking under DOS and then share files over the network, so why insist on using the sharing method provided by VMware Tools? It can be said that I have never used it.

VMware DiskMount Utility is actually used under the WIN command prompt, right? Not under pure DOS.
Sharing files through the network under DOS has its advantages, but it also has obvious disadvantages. First, it takes up quite a lot of memory; second, not every environment can get sharing working successfully directly. I have no problem using DOS networking to connect to shared drives on a normal 32-bit WinXP, but I have never been able to connect successfully to shared drives on x64 WinXP. But other methods besides networking can be used to solve it. |
