1. If I use findcd to locate the CD, is the default drive letter %cdrom%?
2. If I have more than one CD-ROM drive, how can I make the drive letter of the one with the CD inserted become %cdrom%?
For the second question, it seems Wuyou Boot used a program called cda. I wonder whether it works under msdos7.1.

1: That's right, FINDCD's drive letter is %CDROM%;

2: If there are multiple CD-ROM drives, you can use methods like FINDCD 2 or FINDCD 5 to get the drive letters of the 2nd or 5th CD-ROM drive; if you want to get the drive letters of all CD-ROM drives at once, just use FINDCD /S.

About the second question, I'm still a little unclear.
If I use findcd /s, what will the drive letters of each CD-ROM drive be like? They won't all be %cdrom%, right?
Does that mean the CD-ROM drives after the first one won't use %cdrom%?
Because in a boot CD, the batch files are all written in the form of %cdrom%. So if the CD is in the second CD-ROM drive, what method should be used to make its drive letter become %cdrom%? Only then can the files on the CD be read smoothly!

I figured it out myself. I referred to the method used in Wuyou.

If you use FINDCD /S, then %CDROM% will become the number of current CD-ROM drives, and the drive letter of the first CD-ROM drive will become %CDROM1%, the second will be %CDROM2%, and so on.
