Why can't I install WINDOWS XP from DOS booted with grub for DOS? The DOS boot disk image is on c：, and the WINDOWS backup files are on d： Every time I install WINDOWS XP, it stops at copying the setup files, with no response for a long time, and the hard disk light stays on the whole time How do I solve this?

Sorry, I can't answer this, but I seem to think you can start the installer directly from Windows.

This seems to have nothing to do with grub for DOS~ Install WINDOWS from DOS X:\i386\winnt.exe

Yeah, that's what I'm using, the winnt command, but when the installer says it is copying the files needed for setup, it stops responding for a long time, while the hard disk light stays on all the time

I guess your hard drive is damaged. I suggest formatting it under pure DOS with format without the /s parameter; if it still does not respond for a long time, that means the hard drive has bad sectors~

If smartdrv is not loaded, copying will be very slow. It is also quite possible that the problem is with the system installation disc; I ran into that before, and it turned out to be the system installation disc.
