Please introduce to everyone a text editor you like. Well, except for Microsoft's EDIT.COM, and it can be placed on a floppy disk... It's best to attach the download address so that everyone can share... :)

For example, PEDIT, EDITV and so on are also okay!

wengier, wasn't PEDIT made by you? (You did the Chinese localization, and you also chose the name).

PEDIT is not the Chinese - translated version of EDIT, but another more powerful software.

I prefer QEDIT (<40K), and ASE in Chinese Dragon (<20K). When dealing with tables, like ED (<90K)/CCED, and the most compact TEDIT (<3K).

wengier: You mentioned PEDIT, is it Peditlgt.exe (93K)? It can be downloaded from this website www.goldshell.com/pedit. The functions are really good, various operations are similar to EDIT, but it can perform column block operations and has ASCII code and table symbol prompts (in the Tables menu)... It is only 52K after compression, but the Tables menu item doesn't work. I wonder if you have any lossless compression software (referring to executable file compression) to compress it.
QEDIT is also very good and powerful. I have one that is 60K in size and supports mouse operation. |

It is exactly this PEDIT, which can also be downloaded in the "Text Tools" on the site.

The cursor of qedit is opposite to others, the rewrite state and insert state are reversed. How to change it back.

The following is a quote from michael on 2002-11-11 13:48:26: Just use it like this. There is a state prompt. The prompt in the first line above is line number (L) column number (C) insert state (I) document (A) size (xxxK) file name (complete file name, including path) ^^^^^This (A) I don't know if it means document. I guess. If it is the overwrite state prompt line, the character (I) does not appear. |

In fact, MS Word, MS Works, StarWriter and others are also very good.

Don't necessarily reject things just because they are not from MS.

Are there any small alternative software to EDIT.com that can edit text larger than 64K?

The above software are all okay. EDIT in MS - DOS 7.x is also okay, and it is very small and practical.
