While standing on the viewing platform in Sequoia National Park, California, USA,
this woman's hair suddenly stood on end. The tourists around her all thought it was very interesting, and her younger brother took this photo of her. Five minutes after the brother and sister left, lightning struck the viewing platform, causing one death and seven injuries. If you run into a similar situation outdoors in the future, leave the area immediately and move to lower ground as quickly as possible.  |
