UNERASE cannot be used on current new machines? - China DOS Union Forum

I'm using UNERASE.EXE from Norton System Works 2002. Now I find it always has errors when used on several P4 - level machines. It can enter the normal interface and view the deleted files normally, but every time I try to recover, it exits abnormally and the following error prompt appears:

Error : General protextion fault in UNERASE.EXE at 0090:166B
code 0000 SS=1030 DS=1030 ES=0000 load base=AB40
AX=0000 BX=1BDA CX=FFFF DX=001A SP=A9E8 BP=A9EE SI=4BB0 DI=0000

This is the case whether under the default DOS configuration or the usual configuration environment. I wonder if any of you using this version of UNERASE.EXE have encountered this problem.

I don't know what the highest version of Norton System Works with DOS tools is, and whether there are still this problem.
