Who can help me explain how to use PC-CACHE.COM! I don't know. Also, is there a better high - speed cache program?

Well, the specific usage of PC-CACHE is quite complicated. Why not take a look at the content in its /? option?
I think the functions of PC-CACHE are very good. SMARTDRV, NCACHE2, LBACACHE and others are not as good as it. |

Just talk about how to load manually. For example, if you want to load 8MB, what command should be typed? What should be written in CONFIG.SYS? Thanks

Take loading 8MB buffer as an example, using the /SIZEXT:8192 parameter of PC-CACHE will be okay. Of course, some other parameters can also be added for optimization. It can be loaded in the command line or batch file.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. My floppy drive is broken, and I'm currently decompressing to the hard drive for testing. Is that okay?

It doesn't work. Please, moderator, continue to give advice. I did it like this: PC/SIZEXT:8192. It prompts ERROR. Is there a space in the command line? I extracted it to the hard disk C drive, and executed the above command in pure DOS by pressing F8 when starting 98. Moderator, please see what's wrong. Thanks

What error is it prompting? I've tried it, and there's no problem.

提示:在 C:\ 没有找到覆盖文件,无法加载缓存。按任意键继续……

That should be because PC-CACHE can't find the required file.

Then what other files does he need? I only extracted PC-CACHE to the C drive.

Now it should be loaded successfully. The prompt "drive caching modes cr,w,n=read, write, none" means drive caching modes: cr is read, w is write, n is none. And "a:r b:r c:w d:w e:w f:w" means drive a: is read, drive b: is read, drives c: d: e: f: are write. Please give me some advice.

R means there is only read buffering, while W means there is both read buffering and write buffering. N means there is no buffering.
