I almost go to the union every day and almost post moderation posts every day. The main content of moderation posts is only to remind the thread starter to modify the ambiguous title, the universal title of "about ××", the incomprehensible title... In the past month, there are more than 100 posts (replies) in the Batch Processing Room every day. The first thing to do when going to the union every day is to go through the new posts one by one to see if moderation prompts need to be posted to remind the thread starter. Day in and day out, every day like this, I'm very tired. To tell the truth, every time I post a moderation post, I'm holding back my full anger.
But I find that my good temper hasn't been exchanged for a good posting habit in the Batch Processing Room. Posts with ambiguous titles are still posted every day, and it seems to have a trend of increasing with the growth of the number of posts. I think it's necessary to take tough measures to standardize the posting behavior and curb the development of this trend. Posts with ambiguous titles will be deleted一律. Otherwise, either the moderators will be tired to death, or the messy posts will run rampant. If it develops, the former situation is that no one is willing to be a moderator anymore, and the latter situation is that the posts in the board cannot be sorted out smoothly. And no matter which situation, the harm to the continued development of the forum is obvious. |

It is suggested that the forum have a recycle bin area, so that the thread starters can find their own posts by themselves.

Recycle bin? Interesting. It would be best if the system could automatically send a text message to this ID when moving to the recycle bin, telling him which post was placed in the recycle bin for what reason, to play a role in prompting and warning.

It is strongly recommended that the forum launch a recycle bin function!

Haha... The recycle bin function is both practical and humorous and cute~ : )
When I go to some other non-technical forums (such as self-study exams forums, etc....), the posts in them are all about how to make the title attractive, even using various symbols. It is estimated that it is very likely that the users who come here have brought the "bad habits" that they couldn't get rid of in other forums and habitually brought them here. So, the recycle bin is like the principle of a spam filter to filter out the posts that do not conform to the rules, and then the poster can change the post title to an appropriate content to be seen by the public. And I found that generally there are basically only three or four characters of words with retrieval significance in the title. If the title is not standard, there is basically no retrieval significance (it is very difficult to find, often I still remember the code or some characteristic words in it, but it is still very difficult to find). Support brother e and the moderator's ideas~ : ) ) ) |

The proposal to establish a recycle bin is good, but what form of recycle bin do you want? Is it to specifically create a read-only section and put the posts to be deleted from other sections into this section as an archive? Or is it a background recycle bin, that is, after deletion, it can only be viewed or restored from the background?

Seeing that brother namejm is tirelessly working on organizing the posts in the forum every day, I can only say, brother, you've worked hard!
Brother est's idea of proposing to set up a recycle bin is indeed a good one. After the moderator confirms that a post is a vague post, it is moved to the recycle bin, and the system sends a private message to notify the thread starter to modify the thread title or content. After the moderator confirms it is qualified, it is moved back to the corresponding section. If the thread starter doesn't make any modifications within the specified time (within one week or half a month), the post is automatically deleted. To better manage the forum posts, the permission to move vague posts to the recycle bin can be given to some active and responsible users in the forum (such as: electronixtar, redtek, lxmxn, qzwqzw, etc...), which can better urge users to post and also reduce the burden on the moderators. |

Originally posted by Wengier at 2007-1-28 13:24: Considering that most posts are made for seeking help, and among them, there are many creative ideas that are just put into the recycle bin due to improper titles. Such posts have the value of further discussion. Therefore, it is suggested that the recycle bin be designed as follows: 1. When a post is moved to the recycle bin, the system automatically sends a text message to the ID, informing him which post is placed in the recycle bin for what reason, and reminding him to go to modify the title within a specified period (such as one week, ten days or half a month, etc.); 2. If the title is modified, he is prompted that he can send a text message to the moderator (to all moderators or a specified one or two moderators) or the super user or the site administrator, requesting to move this post back to the corresponding section for further discussion; 3. If no corresponding changes are made within the specified period, the post will be automatically deleted. Because there may be difficulties in permission settings for the function of moving posts back from the recycle bin to the original section in point 2, other schemes can be used to replace it. For now, this is the function that is tentatively thought of. Details can be increased or decreased as appropriate. |

In fact, using the function of locking the post can achieve a similar effect.
Find the problem and lock it. Then no one can reply. Naturally, no one can top it up either. According to the update speed of the forum, it will soon be overwhelmed by other new posts. It's no different from moving to the recycle bin. The author modifies the title and then sends a text message to request unlocking. Regularly filter and delete expired locked topics. --------------------------------------------------- Such operation rights are only within one version. No special rights are required. Just don't know if the author of the locked topic can still modify the title. In addition, how to notify the author after locking is also a troublesome matter. |

If it's just locking, there will still be unreplied bad posts occupying the board in that section. It's better to put them in the recycle bin to let them die out on their own or come back to life, so as to ensure that only valuable posts appear in the same board.

In fact, what I more want to do is let the system automatically notify users to modify the title. If I do moderation operations on each bad post, it will be too tiring - not only is it very laborious to post moderation posts, but also I need to review within the specified period (usually within three days set by me) to see if the original poster has modified it. If there is no modification, I also need to deduct points + force modification, and if it has been modified, I have to withdraw the moderation prompt. If the system can be used to automatically notify, it can relieve a lot of burden.

It is necessary to specifically set up a recycle bin. 1. It is convenient for unified management of such posts. 2. It can also save board space.
When the moderator moves a post to the recycle bin, the system records in which section the post is, the ID of the original poster, and at the same time, according to the ID, automatically sends a preset short message to its mailbox. [ Last edited by pengfei on 2007-1-29 at 04:32 AM ] |

If there is a recycle bin
It would probably be in the service area Any thread moved there Can only be edited but not replied to In addition, not only titles that are vague will be dealt with Content that is vague, one post with multiple questions, multiple posts with one question, malicious spamming, improper language, etc. Should all be included in the scope of consideration As for deduction of points and notifications, they are all automatically completed with the move But the reason for the notification needs to be more sufficient So it is still necessary to improve the forum rules first To have a basis for law enforcement |
