Users who are used to Windows 9x all know that there are Quick Launch items on the taskbar, such as "Launch IE" and "Show Desktop." But after installing Windows XP, you will find that there are no Quick Launch items on the taskbar at all, which makes it quite inconvenient to use. We can add Quick Launch items in the following way.
1. Add the "Show Desktop" item Click "Start → Settings → Control Panel → Taskbar and Start Menu" in order. In the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window, check the "Show Quick Launch" option, and the "Show Desktop" item will appear on the taskbar. 2. Add other Quick Launch items If we need to add other applications to the taskbar, such as "Word XP" or "ACDSee," to enable quick program launching, there are two ways to do it. (1) First create a shortcut to the program on the desktop. Click the shortcut, then drag the shortcut icon to a spot near the Quick Launch icons on the taskbar. When an insertion marker appears next to the icon being dragged, release the mouse, and the program will be added to the Quick Launch items. (2) First create a program shortcut on the desktop. Right-click the shortcut icon and choose the "Copy" command, then open the Windows XP installation directory (if it is installed on drive C, by default it is in the C:\Documents and Settings\***\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch window; *** refers to the username you use when logging in), and execute the "Paste" command. This can also add the program to the Quick Launch items. If you need to remove a Quick Launch item from the taskbar, just right-click it and choose the "Delete" command, and that Quick Launch item will be removed. |
