Making the Batch Processing Essence of the DOS Union Forum, the Internal Preview Version is Completed

I have always particularly wanted to collect the posts in the forum, and then classify and sort them, and package them into e-books. I tried to make it, which was far more troublesome than I thought, but finally the preview version was made. It took me nearly two weeks before and after.

This version selects 4,200 posts from more than 6,000 posts in the Q&A Room and Batch Processing Room. The screening rules are to delete posts without topics, posts without real meaning, posts with 0 or 1 replies, posts with less than 4k replies, less than 10 replies, and less than 200 clicks. In this way, a large number of meaningless posts are removed, and basically all valuable posts are retained. However, my personal ability is limited, and I have not done classification and sorting. I hope everyone can jointly participate in sorting out the essence of the DOS Union Forum. This preview version is divided into 42 groups with 100 posts per group. It is very easy for one person to classify 1-2 groups. The sorted data can be used as an index of forum knowledge points for easy retrieval. The specific classification rules have not been considered yet. This time I want to make two versions, an essence version with a volume of less than 8M for easy network dissemination; a collection version that retains all wonderful articles and discussions. In this version, the css style and javascript script are borrowed from various places on the Internet. I don't know much about them. I hope that friends with ability can help optimize or remake them. Moreover, there is still a lack of a guide page picture. I also hope that friends proficient in PS can help design one. In this version, the previous and next page buttons are not made. According to the preliminary observation, I found that these 42 categories are divided according to the order of post IDs, not classified according to the forum sections. This should be the direction of the formal version's efforts? There are still many meaningless posts. Maybe they are included in the internal version because the click count is over 200? Some posts' contents are in italics, which is relatively vague (as shown in the following figure). I don't know the reason... I roughly took a look and only found these few problems, which need to be further improved by everyone.

Thank you brother for helping with the testing. All posts are only in the Q&A room and batch processing room. I am not familiar with the knowledge involved in other sections and haven't collected them. I know there are still many meaningless posts, but there's no way. I don't want more strict filtering to filter out wonderful posts. I can't sort by content at all by myself, which is exactly why I ask everyone to participate in making it together.

The reason for the italic text has been found. The original post was missing the closing tag of <i>, and the forum's CSS style seems to be relatively good, which doesn't affect other parts. There are many places that I am not very satisfied with, and I know little about CSS. I hope friends who are proficient can help improve it again.

Regarding the content format part, I try to maintain the original post style including custom colors, and the batch processing code part has been colored. There is no problem in small-range testing. Everyone pays attention to whether there are code errors caused by coloring.

Classification rules are easy. I think everyone is responsible for one or more groups, group the ID numbers together according to a certain classification, and post them. I will unify and sort them finally. But the trouble is how to classify reasonably. Batch processing is quite miscellaneous. It can't be classified only by key words. In that case, full-text search can be done.

Everyone, please give more opinions on how to classify systematically and reasonably.

Brother's proposal is good. How about keeping it as follows:

System-related: optimization, system settings, registry, etc.
Text processing: relatively narrow scope, but there are many related posts.
File processing: file system-related operations such as renaming, moving, deleting, etc.
Extended tools: introduce some third-party batch processing enhancement software, etc.
Miscellaneous applications: some rare things done by batch processing.

Each post belongs to one category, but can have multiple keyword tags.

Some things are very difficult to systematically classify. It may have characteristics of both sides, and it depends on how the organizer divides it.

What if we use cross-classification? There must be many posts that may have the following characteristics:

It involves a certain batch processing technique;
But it is yet to solve operations with strengths such as the registry;
But it also involves reading text to sort content, writing registry startup items, etc.;
There are also advanced skill operations with strings, such as counting data... dynamic prompting, background work...;

Can we use cross-searching of subject terms?

For the above characteristics: The subject terms:

They are posts with cross commonalities, which can appear in different searches, but are visually repeated.
I wonder if in CHM help file making, a text can be indexed by different categories multiple times.

My idea is also to classify by large chunks, and if more detailed, classify into some subcategories, similar to a folder structure.

Then there are keyword classifications, similar to hyperlinks.

CHM can index linked files multiple times, but it cannot be generated automatically by software. However, I can try to write a script to custom-generate the required index.
