I don't know if posting here is appropriate. If it's not, please just delete the post directly.
I used to like using the disk defragmentation tools that come with 98 and ME.
But now there are many NTFS partitions.
What tool is better for thorough defragmentation?
Please recommend your favorite defragmentation tools, thanks.

Previously, voptxp (fast speed), perfectdisk (reasonable file placement), oodefrag (professional) were mostly used. Now PartitionManager is used----thorough work (defragment after restart) and clever (can set not to defragment large files, which is especially useful for data disks that store infrequently used materials).
my major is english----my love is dos----my teacher is the buddha----my friends--how about U

I used to use many kinds of disk defragmentation tools. Unfortunately, the effect was not very remarkable, and it could even be said to be useless! Later, I saw in a magazine that I could use Ghost to defragment the disk. I did as I was told, and it really worked well. After running Ghost once, I checked, and it was really neatly arranged. The method is as follows: (Note: It was copied from the internet)

Defragmenting Disks with Ghost Remember the first time I used the disk defragmentation software built in Windows to defragment a 4GB partition, the hard drive worked for more than 7 hours. From then on, I never used it to defragment again. In fact, Ghost can also be used to defragment the hard drive. As we know, when using Ghost to make a disk image, Ghost will completely read out each data in the hard drive partition and then write it into a GHO file. For the blank part of the partition, the software will automatically skip it. Then when we restore the GHO image file, the software will continuously write all the contents in the file into the partition. Then all the data is automatically written at the head of the partition, and we get the complete unused space, and the original fragmented files naturally disappear.

The specific method of defragmenting with Ghost is: First, use Scandisk to scan and repair all error codes on the partition, then use Ghost to make a GHO image file for the partition to be defragmented. The size of the file depends on the usage of the partition. Then restore the GHO file to the original partition. These operations are best run in pure DOS mode. When restoring the image, be sure to select the correct partition, otherwise data loss will occur. According to my usage experience, it takes about 30 minutes to defragment a 4GB hard drive by this method, which is a little longer than the time taken by Vopt2000, but the effect is much better. However, using Ghost software has certain risks, and it is recommended that everyone use it carefully.

Now? I never defragment disks anymore, and I don't do GHOST backups and restores either! But I feel that the speed has become much faster! Because I specially divided out a partition and put as many operations that would generate disk fragments as possible in that partition! Such as the temporary files of IE, the favorites, all Downloads, TEMP, My Documents..............
I find that the speed is getting faster and faster!!!!!

Of course, it means it will get faster and faster within a certain range!
Suspected to be the role of "prefetching files".

Organize with GHOST
Really too "excessive"
This usage is really brilliant, just need enough space.

This problem is really annoying. In the past, when using Windows 98, there was an NDD which was fast and good at organizing. Since entering Windows XP, there has been no satisfactory organizing tool. They are all extremely slow and the effect is not very good either.

Windows的dfrg.msc (Slow as a snail, be mentally prepared for it to take a long time to finish running)
Command-line mode of dfrg: defrag (Second slow)
voptxp (Fast speed)
perfectdisk (Reasonable file location arrangement)
o&o defrag (Professional)
PartitionManager (Thorough work)
ghost (Strange trick)
It is said that copying, deleting, and pasting the entire disk content can also organize it!?????????????????????????
