Thanks to the LZ! Take a sofa first, and I'll try it after downloading. After all, my software is basically tested under VmWare!

Weakly asking: Can the owner's homepage have a multi-language selection option (want to see a simplified Chinese version of the webpage), my English is poor! It's hard to read the English text!

My translation is not good, and I don't know much about the names used in China. Is there any netizen who can help? I can be responsible for translating the meaning sentences.

You can first translate it into traditional Chinese, and mainland netizens can modify it into simplified Chinese, which may be faster.

请问johnsonlam:

由于在FreeDOS论坛上不断出现不利的帖子,此驱动程序被禁止在FreeDOS中使用,并且如果在该系统中加载将立即终止。

这是怎么回事啊?

Translated:
May I ask johnsonlam:

Due to incessant, unfavorable posts on FreeDOS forums, this driver is PROHIBITED from use with FreeDOS and will now ABORT if loaded in that system.

What's going on here?

It seems that the author had an unpleasant/quarrel with some people from freedos. I don't know the details.

Because several developers criticized Jack Ellis's Q-series drivers a lot, but couldn't provide evidence, which seemed like picking a fight. When new users asked about Q-series issues, they liked to mislead others, so it evolved from a verbal argument to personal attacks.... The consequence was also related to the GPL issue. Jack Ellis, who felt angry, decided to prevent the drivers from running under FreeDOS as a revenge.

Regarding QDMA, I want to ask: When using QCache, do I definitely need to use flush.com to synchronize the cache content to the disk before shutting down or restarting? Can QDMA automatically capture the ctrl+alt+del action for synchronization like smartdrv?

In addition, I noticed that there is a tool package called AdvanceCAB (http://advancemame.sourceforge.net/cab-readme.html), and the off.com in it can realize software shutdown. There is a sentence in its instruction document: Before the shutdown the disk cache (SMARTDRV) is automatically flushed using the standard BIOS service 2F-4A10. Does this mean that I can shut down directly with off.com without running flush.com?

No, SmartDrv is delayed writing, QCache is a read-only cache, no actions are needed

FLUSH.COM is to flush the contents of QCache. Except for special cases such as testing, it is generally not necessary to execute

FDAPM in FreeDOS can also instruct the BIOS APM to shut down

QCache will not lose data under any circumstances because it does not perform write operations
