This disk was originally uploaded by you7758. After I completely overhauled it, I am now uploading it to share with everyone.

Original disk address:
http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/newdos/dispbbs.asp?boardID=11&ID=2009

The reasons for the overhaul and the steps are as follows:
Using Menustar to make a Chinese boot interface is also a very good choice. It's just that this disk had quite a few problems. Aside from a few points mentioned by Master Rushi that I also agree with, the most serious one was that KV3000 could not run, saying there was a memory problem.
Later I added EMM386, and conventional memory increased from 470K to 610K. Sure enough, KV3000 could then run.
Then I added the TW Tianhui Chinese-language platform (230K). I also replaced EDIT, HD-COPY, and FDISK on the original disk with Chinese versions. Load TW first and then run the above software, and then it truly becomes a Chinese boot, a Chinese-language platform, and runs Chinese software as well.
After the full overhaul, with the Chinese-language platform loaded, 577K of conventional memory remains; if the Chinese-language platform is not loaded, then
610K of conventional memory remains. Enough to run ordinary software.
The first selection screen in English when booting up is simply unnecessary. If someone wants to boot from the hard disk, who would go out of their way to stick in a floppy disk?
So I removed it. (The original interface did not have boot from floppy at all, only hard disk and CDROM boot options, which was even more confusing.)
Of course, because of the floppy disk's capacity limit, adding the above software was not easy. To "squeeze" a few hundred K of space out of the original disk, quite a bit of software compression and software replacement work had to be done
before it could be added. Since it's rather cumbersome, I won't go into details here. I'll simply upload the final IMG image file for reference.

At a speed of only a few dozen bytes per second, I spent nearly an hour uploading it. The 1M IMG file finally finished uploading, but in the end it told me: please contact the system administrator.
I don't have time today, I'll continue the upload tomorrow.

Keep at it... usually around 12 at night the speed is faster and there are no errors.

Let me add one note:
The IO.SYS used in this disk is from the moderator's MSDOS7.1 super boot disk.
Also, several EXE files such as EMM386.EXE are from Shen Jie’s boot disk.
I'd like to express my thanks for all of them here!

I checked it out. Why not use the newer, better, smaller, and faster FINDRAMD.EXE and VIDE-CDD.SYS files, and instead use MS's bulky FINDRAMD.EXE and OAKCDROM.SYS files?

Also, this disk usually cannot boot Win98 on the hard disk.

1. I'm still not sure about the compatibility of FINDRAMD.EXE and VIDE-CDD.SYS. If the admin feels confident about them, then replace them.
2. As for booting Win98 on the hard disk, I really hadn't considered that. Thanks for the reminder.

The following is quoted from wglwx's post on 2003-5-15 7:29:59:

As for that compact FINDRAMD.EXE I mentioned, at present I still don't quite dare say with complete certainty that its compatibility on all computers is fine. Although all the computers I tested had no problems, after all my test environment is still limited. But for VIDE-CDD.SYS, I am very confident. I have tried it on countless computers, and not a single one had any problem at all. And VIDE-CDD.SYS is widely used in DOS boot disks abroad, and no problems have ever been found with it.

Also, in fact, compatibility of that bulky MS FINDRAMD.EXE is itself very problematic as well (it seems to be much less compatible than the compact FINDRAMD.EXE I mentioned). MS's FINDRAMD.EXE searches every drive from A: to Z:, checking each drive's volume label, and if the volume label is "MS-RAMDRIVE" then it assigns the RAM disk's drive letter to that drive. You can clearly see the potential danger in that, right! This is not really searching for the drive letter of a memory virtual disk, but rather searching each drive's volume label. Moreover, it is completely incompatible with ROM-DOS 7.1, and simply does not work at all under ROM-DOS. So clearly it has quite a few problems, and on top of that it is large, slow, and cumbersome to use. The compact FINDRAMD.EXE I mentioned does not have these problems.
