I wanted to ask whether there is any software that can compress a batch file, and after compression the batch file can still run normally at startup. Thanks!

Sorry, I wrote it wrong! I mean encrypting a batch file, and after encryption it can still run normally at startup.

Encrypt a batch file? Use password-compressed ARJ/ZIP/RAR or something like that.

There does seem to be such a piece of software, but I haven't used it.
Actually encrypting a BAT file is not very useful. People who don't know how to read it naturally won't understand it. People who do know how to read it can still guess eight or nine tenths of it even without looking at the BAT. |

With the methods you mentioned, after compressing it or converting it to an EXE file, can it still run after startup? It's the kind with multiple configurations.

If it's autoexec.bat, this method won't work.

Isn't it very simple! First turn your original AUTOEXEC.BAT file into a ***.exe file
then write a new AUTOEXEC.BAT file and load that ***.exe file in it, wouldn't that do it! |

No, it doesn't work. I tried it. First convert it to EXE, then write it into a new AUTOEXEC。BAT. It simply won't work. I think if the batch file were not the multi-configuration kind, it might work. Is there really no such software? Like how EXE and SYS files can still run after being compressed.

For MS-DOS 7.x, the startup file name does not necessarily have to be AUTOEXEC.BAT; AUTOEXEC.EXE or AUTOEXEC.COM will also do, and if there is an AUTOEXEC.COM/EXE, then AUTOEXEC.BAT will not be executed. So just put in an AUTOEXEC.COM/EXE.

What the moderator said is not right. I put AUTOEXEC。COM into the boot disk. But at startup, AUTOEXEC。COM simply does not execute. Only CONFIG。SYS was executed! If COMMAND can be modified, then how do I modify it? Thanks!
