Hello, seniors!
I'm a “junior” who never lived through the DOS era. Recently a classmate introduced me to play Classmates 2, but when I start it under 98 there is no sound. My motherboard has an onboard sound card with an AC97 2.1 chip. When installing the VIAUDIO 1.11 DOS driver it always says it cannot find a VIA audio device. After loading Viaudio in AUTOEXEC it also tells me to first set SoundPlaster Pro in the BIOS. What should I do? Please give me more guidance, seniors.

Looks like my sound card just can't make any sound under DOS, so I'd like to ask the experts to recommend a few “old-style” PCI sound cards for me. The recommendations should preferably be cheap and still available on the market, and most importantly they must have drivers for DOS (sorry again for troubling the experts~)

As for PCI sound cards, many VIA sound cards, C-Media sound cards, Sound Blaster PCI/Live!/Augiy, SiS 7018 and the like can all be driven under pure DOS.
