I accidentally pressed the SHIFT+F2 key when the command prompt window was active, and this appeared (see the attachment).
What is this? What is it for?

Thanks!

Try pressing F1 to F12~~~ Actually, it's an extension of the pure DOS F3 key

Pure DOS already supports F1 to F9.

F1: Take one character from the same position in the previous command line.

F2: Take multiple characters from the same position in the previous command line until the specified character is encountered.

F3: Take all remaining characters from the same position in the previous command line.

F4: Delete characters after the current cursor until the specified character is encountered.

F5: Take the previous command line and rewrite the current command line.

F6: Enter Ctrl-Z to mark the end of the text.

Esc: Clear the current command line buffer and write a new one.

After loading doskey:

F7: Display the command line history.

F8: Sequentially display individual records of the command line history into the command line.

F9: Select the command line of the history by the number of the result from F7.

Alt+F7: Clear the command line history.

Alt+F10: Clear macro definitions.

In addition, you can use ansi.sys to redefine these keys or combinations.

Redefine these keys or combinations using ansi.sys.
