I have used both MSCLIENT and NEWARELITE to connect to the local area network, and both can successfully access each other. Originally, after installing DOS, the memory was 596K or a little more, but as soon as I load one of these two network tools, the memory is reduced a lot, causing my DOS software to not work. If you can't use emm386, then use umbpci. This is in real mode, and I'm using it.

Replace the line "device=emm386.exe" with "device=umbpci.sys".

Finally got it, but after replacement, I found there's not much change. The available memory is still over 440KB. I need at least about 550KB.

You need to set it up yourself. Even for umbpci without parameters, you need to make adjustments in config.sys and autoexec.bat. Load UMB if possible, don't load it if not, and only load necessary network protocols, etc.

Mine too. Once I load UCDOS, the memory is less than 500K, while the software needs more than 510K. Urgently seeking a solution!

Only use the IPX connection in msclient 3.0 for the local area network, which occupies very little memory. The other two protocols occupy more memory. Or install the client of Novell 4.11 with the ODI driver, and there are also more conventional memories. Reply to floor 10: Try changing to ccdos.
