I just put together a new computer, a Gigabyte 945 motherboard, 2.93G CPU, 160G hard drive, and have just finished installing the system and drivers. At first, clicking the little speaker icon let me adjust the volume normally. But after restarting, when I click the little speaker icon at the lower right, the small volume adjustment box flashes and disappears. It does this every time. Double-clicking can open Volume Control for adjustment, but I can't adjust it directly from the little speaker icon. The sound itself is normal. I don't know what's going on, please help me think of a solution!

No one is helping you, so I'll at least bump this for you.

First, make sure the driver is the correct one (sometimes an abnormal driver can still produce sound), right?
Second, is it an integrated sound card or a separate one? If it's a separate one, have you disabled the integrated sound card?
Check whether there are any hardware conflicts...

That's all I can think of. Let's see what other experts think.
