Just installed MS-DOS 7.1. It turns out that DOS can really be installed when WinXP is already installed, and there will be a dual-boot option when restarting, which brings great convenience to laptops without optical drives.

After completing DOS operations, if I want to boot into WINXP, can I directly enter the corresponding command in the pure DOS command prompt to boot into winxp? Please expert answer, thanks in advance!

Help brothers top the post, is there any similar tool to kexec? Probably much simpler than linux **reboot** under DOS

Excuse me for being obtuse, looking forward to an understandable answer. Thanks again to the two previous brothers for their enthusiastic answers.

Win9X can do this, I haven't tried WinMe. As far as I know, NT systems are impossible. Why do you want to start WinXP under DOS? Isn't it also convenient to restart?

It's unlikely. At most, you can only achieve it by restarting the computer!

Didn't I say it? GRUB, Grub, GrUB, gRub! Although I don't use it and have no need for it.

grub4dos can be booted. You copy a grub4dos command to the hard disk, run grub4dos, and try entering the following commands:
root (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
boot

It should be able to boot

It's so much trouble, might as well just "REST" to be faster.

If you have to use restart, would it still be discussed here??
